Product form matters
Legal text can distinguish a purified compound from a botanical material, an extract, a salt, or a finished preparation. A reference to a plant product does not automatically settle the status of an isolated alkaloid, and an exemption for one form does not necessarily carry to another.
That is why terminology should be matched to the text of the relevant rule. The general history and classification of the substance can be checked against the ibogaine overview, but the current operative wording belongs in the applicable statute, regulation, or official notice.
Questions about plant-product distinctions also appear alongside condition-specific searches, including material focused on ibogaine and Alzheimer’s. That context does not change the need to identify the exact product named in a local legal source.
